Please reach out to us at hello@auspoleartchampionships.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Here are key dates to keep in mind:
If you have never entered an industry competition before (that is, not an in-house studio comp), then you should enter the Amateur division.
If you have competed before but have not won or placed in any Amateur comp, then you should enter the Pole Art Amateur division.
If you have won in any Amateur division, or previously competed in any Semi-Pro comp (but not won or placed), then you should enter the Pole Art Semi-Pro division. If you have placed in any Amateur division then we encourage you to enter the Pole Art Semi-Pro division.
If you have won in any Semi-Pro division, or previously competed in any Professional division, then you should enter the Pole Art Professional division. If you have placed in any Semi-Pro division then we encourage you to enter the Pole Art Pro division.
The Aus Pole Art Doubles division is open-level, so whether or not you have competed before, either individually or as a duo, you are still eligible to enter the Doubles division. Please note that the entry fee for the Doubles division only needs to be paid once per duo.
Absolutely! You can enter both the Doubles division and the appropriate solo division you are eligible for (Amateur, Semi-Pro, Pro). You will need to submit separate entries and pay the entry fee for every entry you submit.
Foot coverings that aid your movement on the floor, i.e. socks, foot thongs/foot wraps or ballet flats, are the only foot coverings allowed for the Australian Pole Art Championships so long as the natural and bare lines and shape of your foot are not obscured in any way. If you are still not sure, drop us a short email or insta DM with a photo of the foot covering and we’ll let you know.
Yes. Keep in mind that our judging criteria for all divisions has a strong focus on quality of movement and cleanliness in your lines and extensions, which extends to the very tip of your foot. If you are not barefoot in your video, these elements of the criteria will be harder for you to fulfil and for our video judges to accurately judge.
Yes, you can submit a different video however you will need to specify your intended performance concept in your competitor registration form.
Your video entry should demonstrate your current abilities as a pole artist; therefore as recent as possible is preferred. We understand that not all pole artists may have recent footage of themselves performing barefoot. If you have an older video that you'd like to submit and it features you performing barefoot, feel free to do so.
Videos should be 2:00 - 2:30 minutes in length .
A professionally edited video with cuts between wide and close-up angles that features a performance in one continuous run is okay to submit so long as you are clearly in frame for the full length of the video. Where possible, a clean, landscape video is preferable.
Definitely! The Aus Pole Art Championships are an international competition, and we welcome entrants from outside of Australia.
